🔗 Share this article Vinted Users Voice Frustration Regarding Size Modifications Vinted users have been reacting angrily after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size. The popular resale platform has altered its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes without notifying every member regarding the update. Online Platforms Backlash Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category than originally posted as a result of the reclassification. The company said the updated approach better aligns with similar services. It has advised users to check their listings and update the measurements by hand when needed, causing user dissatisfaction. Measurement Approach Modifications Before the change, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Member Stories One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she said. Manual Updates A different user, located in England, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing". "For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she said. Platform Context The app has more than 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members. It has proved a popular alternative to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change on the platform has faced criticism: previously, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods due to shopper criticism.
